Life Musings

I believe the last time I posted was when I lost my beloved cat, Jasmine. It's been far too long.

This weekend I'm alpaca sitting while my Aunt is away at an alpaca show and Uncle is up North at a show selling alpaca products. I have a few minutes before my Mom gets here so I figured I'd post while I had the motivation.

Well first off I'm waiting on three babies to be born this weekend. It must be the animal lover side of me but I've always wanted to deliver a cria on my own, of course as long as it's an easy birth. Thankfully I've learned not to panic in stressful situations and I have our wonderful vet on speed dial so if something goes wrong or I have a question I won't hesitate to call him. Of course I would love if all three dam's had their babies but I'd settle for just one. I do plan on posting a bunch of pictures from this weekend so prepare for some adorable photos since we already have 5 rambunctious babies walking around.

I might as well get this next part out of the way, I've been seeing a wonderful guy for over 6 months now. I'm not sure if he'll get upset about me posting about him but meh oh well ;) We met at work and it just bloomed from there. He has to be one of the most supportive people in my life. From day one he knew that I was going to MN for 13 weeks this summer (more on that later!) for an internship which made me hesitant to get into any kind of relationship but he assured me that if we lasted that long we could make it through. Even to this day when I mention the possibility of me going out of state to finish up my schooling he reminds me that he just wants me to be happy and he'll support me no matter what. Oh and he's a complete nerd (sweetie I mean that in the nicest most adoring way possible!). Which is completely opposite from what I am like, but I try to play some of the games he loves and although I just fail (it's a disgracing to the gaming community I'm certain) he seems to enjoy me at least trying. My goal when I go to MN is to get him on a horse.

Okay Minnesota time! 13 weeks this summer I am going to back to the U and work there full time following around vet-techs and helping to manage the veterinary school horses and the old herd I use to work with. Seriously I wish I could go back in time and tell the younger me that one day I will be getting paid to ride horses!

I GRADUATE May 10th! I'll be graduating with a bachelor's degree in animal science and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing to do after (I really want to be a large animal vet tech) because I've recently decided that I don't want to go to vet school. But that hasn't gotten me down or discouraged. In the fall I need to complete 1 or 2 more classes but after that I will be done for now!

Mom should be here soon, cross your fingers for some alpaca babies!
Thank you for reading :)
